Hiram Percy Maxim 150th Birthday Anniversary Special Event Station

To honor the 150th Birthday of ARRL founder Hiram Percy Maxim, Garry Laing (W3GTL) is coordinating a special event sponsored by the Antietam Radio Association. HPM is buried in Hagerstown, MD at the Rose Hill Cemetary.

Just ONE Volunteer Needed!! - Racine Racing Triathlon

The Ft. Ritchie Triathlon in Ft. Ritchie, MD -- Sunday, Aug 4, 2019

The ARA is providing 2 meter ham radio communications support for the bicycle segment of the race. We have one position that still needs to be filled to operate along the country roads using their car mobiles or handie talkie. The ARA has assisted with communications for this event for the last few years, and I have always found it a rewarding experience, so if you have a few hours on Sunday 8/4/19 please consider volunteering a few hours of your day. Full disclosure: this event takes place at the same time of the Berryville Hamfest.

Reminder: The June monthly breakfast is still on for the 29th of April!  Per an email many of is received from Bob:

    "We look forward to seeing every one of you on Saturday at the Rail Road Junction Restaurant on Saturday.
     The restaurant is still at 301 S Burhans Blvd - right across from the Rail Road Museum.

The Antietam Radio Association is sponsoring a hands-on WinLink 2000 (WL2K) Training Class this Saturday May 11, presented by ARRL Maryland-DC Section Emergency Coordinator Jim Montgomery, WB3KAS.  
WinLink 2000 (WL2K) combines radio and Internet connectivity to allow worldwide email-over-radio capability, with the radio transparent to the user. WL2K figures prominently in emergency and contingency communications support:
