For almost 60 years the Antietam Radio Association has been a staple of the Hagerstown-area Amateur Radio community. We work with local charities and other organizations to provide them with reliable communications services, and when the need arises, we provide emergency communications support to this and other nearby areas.
The Antietam Radio Association holds its meetings on the first and third Tuesday of most months (July, August, and December we usually only hold the first meeting and forego the second). The first Tuesday meetings are usually preceded by an informal pre-meeting get-together for food and drink.
Through Covid-19, which was most of 2020 and the early part of 2021, we tested several methods of hosting meetings via Webex, over the air on the 146.94 repeater, and via Zoom. It is our hope to resume in-person meetings beginning with the first meeting of May. We are keeping an eye on the local, state and federal governments, and will adhere to any and all restrictions.
Setting aside Covid-19 for a moment, we hold our meetings on the first and third Tuesday evening of each month, excluding those listed above. We are fortunate to have a stable meeting venue:
- St. John’s Lutheran Church
141 South Potomac Street
Hagerstown, MD 21740
Meetings begin at 7:00PM. Pre-meeting get-togethers are held from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at:
- American Legion
405 Northern Avenue
Hagerstown, MD 21742
