The Ft. Ritchie Triathlon in Ft. Ritchie, MD -- Sunday, Aug 4, 2019

The ARA is providing 2 meter ham radio communications support for the bicycle segment of the race. We currently have a number of volunteers required for the race, but still need four (4) additional volunteers to operate along the country roads using their car mobiles or handie talkie. The ARA has assisted with communications for this event for the last few years, and I have always found it a rewarding experience. Full disclosure: this event takes place at the same time of the Berryville Hamfest.

Traffic Handling Tutorial

On Saturday, April 28 th the MDC Section Traffic Manager, W3YVQ conducted a training session on the National Traffic System (NTS) traffic handling.

The session is highly informative in regard to traffic handling and proper voicing of voice messages. I highly recommend everyone interested in ARES/RACES operation to listen to this training.
